Object typeDescription
AnalysisA detailed assessment of the condition of an object.
Case studyA method or technique that has been generally accepted as superior to any alternatives because it produces results that are superior to those achieved by other means or because it has become a standard way of doing things (from: Wikipedia)
Civil engineering typeA classifier of civil engineering works.
Civil engineering workA series of connected, interrelated elements that form together a system which can resist a series of external load effects applied to it, and which has a function in a civil infrastructure network (from: Quora).
CountryA distinct region in geography; a broad term that can include political divisions or regions associated with distinct political characteristics.
Damage typeA change in a physical object that degrades it away from its initial state and adversely affects its current or future performance.
Deterioration processA process of becoming impaired or inferior in quality, functioning, or condition (from: Merriam-Webster).
DocumentA documental publication relevant to a case study
Glossary-TermAny concept that has a definition and should be listed in the glossary.
ImageA graph, picture, or drawing relevant to a case study
MaterialA substance or mixture of substances that constitutes an object (from: Wikipedia).
Material propertyA physical property that describes some aspect of a material and that does not depend on the amount of the material.
Material typeA high-level categorisation of materials
Object stateA condition of an object at a particular time, reflecting the object's ability to fulfil it's requirements.
OrganisationAn organization, or organisation, is an entity – such as a company, an institution, or an association – comprising one or more people and having a particular purpose (from: Wikipedia).
Performance indicatorA critical (key) indicators of progress toward an intended result.
PersonA human being involved in the collection and publication of knowledge in the IM-SAFE Knowledge Base.
Physical propertyA property that is measurable, whose value describes a state of a physical system.
StandardAn agreement to conform to a particular specification in a defined context.
Surveying technologyA technique for civil engineering condition survey, i.e. acquiring data and transforming it into information about the current condition of a structure with regard to its appearance, functionality and/or ability to meet the specified performance requirements.
